Since the scientist reached to the universe they are searching for ourneighbors. All of the scientists have very keen interest to find such earth like planet but this mission now has come to success; after having lots of study about the universe they now have become to find the earth like planet named as Gliese 581 which is only 20 light years away from earth solar system and consider as the to be in the habitable zone because of its distance from its sun and its size. Before this our earth only was the planet in our solar system which sustain life into the whole universe and doing lots of study and exploring   the universe they have now found this planet. Before this planet discovered the red planet Mars was one of the most important planet where the scientist were searching for the sustainability of the life and the presence of water but due to the lack of the magnetosphere and it’s extremely thin atmosphere brings the great challenge of the life sustainability in Mars.

The recent study which was conducted  by the   team of planet hunter from the University of the California Santa Cruz and Carnegie Institution of Washington discovered the new planet by using the  W.M. Keck observatory in Hawaii. This observatory was started before 11 years ago or we can say this is the study of 11 years of observation of nearby red dwarf star Gliese 581. This planet is situated in the constellation of  Libra and is only located nearly about 20 light years.

This newly discovered planet is located in Gliese 581 system; in so called “Goldilocks zone” or the area  where the planet support the liquid water on their surfaces. This planet have the mass about three to four  times of our earth and use to orbits it’s sun only in 37 days. One most important and interesting thing about this newly discovered planet is one side of the planet is always facing the star and is in the perpetual daylight while the other side facing away from the star is in the perpetual darkness.

According to the study it is found that the system looks like of our own solar system; with the inner clutch of rocky, terrestrial planets & the big longer like the Jupiter planet further out. All the planet in it’s system is closer to their sun than Earth is to  it’s sun. here the sun is an M dwarf; the star only one percent of power which comes off  the Earth’s sun. This newly discovered planet Gliese 581 is one the star closest to the earth which is only 86th distance from our the solar system and this planet is one of the easiest for the study and exoplanets. For the scientist it took 11 years of observing to ease out presence of habitable zone planet which is very short time in astronomical terms.

Let’s hope we will able to find life in that planet.

Planet Jupiter coming near to the Earth

Here is one news for those who love to have astronomy updates. One of our solar system planets Jupiter is approaching close the earth. We can catch the Jupiter planet in this week. Jupiter is coming nearly 368 million miles from the earth in late Monday which is one of the closest approaches since 1963. And this will not be such a big and bright till 2022. That day what you can see is can view it low n east around dusk. This planet will come in over head around the midnight because during this time the earth will be passing in between the Jupiter and Sun, into wee hour of Tuesday.
Jupiter is one of the largest planet in our solar system which already appears as an incredibly the bright star which is three time brighter than the star Sirius (one of the brightest star in the sky). From the earth only the moon is consider as one the brightest heavenly body. Telescope and the Binoculars will dramatically improve the view as the Jupiter along with its many moons which rise in east as sun sets.

According to the astronomer of California under contract with the NASA Tony Phillips “Jupiter will be such a bright that viewers do notneed to sky map to find it. We can see with our naked eye too means this planet is eye catching.

But here is one such coincidently news that planet Uranus will also make very close approach at the same night; though it will appear close to the Jupiter but it’s hard to seen by our naked eye. By the help of the telescope we can see a shiny like emerald colored disk lesser than one degree from the planet Jupiter.

According to the study it is found that the Jupiter will come close to the earth in every 12 years. It was found in 1999 this planet was slightly farther away from earth. But rare thing is Uranus is also making close approach this time. Or we can say this happen once in a lifetime. On Monday night this planet Uranus will be 1.7 billion miles away from the earth which is seen right next to the planet Jupiter.

If it is cloudy night on Monday but; the Phillips urges stargazers that not to give up. Planet Jupiter will still remain close for many weeks too. Jupiter will be visible in west just before the sun rise.

New solar system discovered in Universe

 Since human reached to universe they are searching for the new planet where there exist human life or any other life. Most of the scientist are searching another solar system in the universe but now the have come to success. European astronomers have founded a new solar system in universe where a distant star is orbited by five planets which is one of the biggest discoveries of astronomers and which is called or named as exoplanets since first was logged in fifteen(15) years ago. It is found that the star is some how similar to our sun and the planetary line up has intriguing parallel with the own solar systems. The scientist has not found lot about it but they said that this could be home from home. The name of this star is HD 10180 which is located in 127 light years away in southern constellation of Hydrus called as male water snake and this was press released by European Southern Observatory (ESO).
 The planets of this sun like star was discovered or detected before six years ago by using the world’s most powerful spectrograph. The spectrograph is a instrument which use to capture & analyze the light signatures which is present in ESO telescope at La Silla, Chile. It has a unique method means it use to see that how the light reaches to the earth  as the result of gravitational pull of the passing planet and this method also consist of observing the stars. Here tiny fluctuation in the light can be use to calculate mass of transiting planet.

Those five planet which revolve sun like star are big as the being size of Neptune. These planets use to orbit as far closer ranges  than our own giant gas; with the year ranging from between the six and six hundred days.
Astronomers also has found the tantalizing proof or evidence that other two planets candidate are out there. Out of them one of it is very large planet as the size of our planet Saturn which use to orbit in 2200 days. And another one is simply 1.4 times the mass of our earth; making this a smallest exoplanet yet to be discovered. It is also found that it orbit HD 10180 at scorchingly close ranges which use to take mere 1.18 Earth days to zip around the star.

Some how it is also confirmed that this would bring distant stars system to the sever planets, as compared with the eight in our solar system.

The total of 402 stars with the planet have been logged since first was detect in 1995 and according the the NASA’s Jep Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Tally of exoplanet stand at 472.

Though it is remotely similar to the Earth which is rocky & inhabits famous Goldilocks Zone where temperature is just right for enabling the water, stuff of the life and to exist in the liquid form. The astronomers Christophe Lovis of ESO said that the knowledge is progressing fast.

The astronomers also said the “we are entering in the new era in exoplanet reseach. (Exoplanet: study of the complex planetary system & not just of the individual planet.). Astronomer Christophe Lovis also said that “the studies of the planetary motions in new system reveal the complex gravitational interactions between planets & give use insight into long term evolutions of the system”.

Black hole is challenged by Magnetic mega star

On August 18 Wednesday the astronomers have reported that the Neutron star with the mighty magnetic field has thrown down gauntlet to the theories about the stellar evolutions and birth of the Black holes.

This Magnetar lies in the cluster of the stars known as the westerlund 1 which is located in 16,000 light years away in constellation of Ara, the Altar. This Westerlund 1 was discovered by a Swedish astronomer in 1961 which is a favoured observation site in the stellar Physics.

This is one of the biggest  cluster of the super stars in Milky Way together with the hundreds of the massive stars. Some of them use to shine with the brilliance of almost  millions of the suns and some of them were two thousand times greater than the sun’s diameter. Those stars were born from single event which is three and half to five millions years ago,  the cluster is very young.

Within the Westerlund 1 is remain of one of the galaxy’s few magnetars… particular kinds of the neutron star which is form from the explosion of the supernova which can exert the magnetic field million and billions times stronger than the Earth magnetic field.

According to the study it was found that the Westrlund 1 which became the magnetar must have mass 40 times  than our Sun. If so than intriguing questions are raised.

It is assumed that the stars between 10 and 25 solar masses use to form neutron stars together with those stars above 25 solar masses use to produce black holes. The black hole is light gobbling gravitational monster which are formed when the huge massive star collapses itself or dying star collapses itself.

In this case mother of magnetar should have become the black hole the reason is it was so big.

But the alternatives use to say that the star slimmed to the lower mass which enable it to become neutron star.

But how did  this come to happen?

The answer, says the paper, could lie in a binary system: the star that became the magnetar was born with a stellar companion.

The answer goes like this : those star which became magnetar was born with the stellar companion. When  the stars evolved they start to interact & the companion stars such a demonic twin, start to steal the mass from progenitor stars.

According to the Simon Clark who lead the team using very large telescope in Paranal, Eastern Southern Observatory European Southern Observatory; If this is the case, this suggest that the binary systems might play the key role in the stellar evolution.

He also said that “The binary system could be ultimate cosmic diet plan for the heavy weight stars which shift over 95% of their initial masses.”

It is found that the discovery of the rare magnetic star or the magnetar is one of he challenging theories for the origin of the black holes.

The Magnetars are a different or the special kind of star which have most powerful magnetic field on it. Especially this magnetic field is created or formed by the  gravitational collapse after the origin of it or the progenitor starm, dies & form the catastrophic supernova.

The astronomers have calculated that the newly discovered magnetar has the mass 40 t imes greater than the our sun.

It is also found that if this star collaps than a big black hole should form. The facet that this is resulted in the neutron star which challenges the established theory.

Study which is lead by the Dr Ben Ritchie of Open University is published in journal Astronomy and the Astrophysics.

This newly magnetar was found in extraordinary star cluster called WESTERLUND 1 which is located in 16,000 light years away in southern constellation of the Ara (Altar). And this region contains the numerous massive stars.

Dr Ben Ritchie had remarked that if our earth was located at the heart of this remarkable cluster than our night sky would be full of the hundred of the stars which is as bright as full moon.

The researchers have estimated its lifespan for calculating the mass of progenitor star. Huge number of the stars collapse earlier than the small star due to the pressures of their core is very high or greater and making them to burn up their fuel hydrogen more fast and rapid.

Astronomers had assume that this star form as same  time as the other in same cluster.

But the main fact is this star had already collapsed shows that this must have been much more massive than other star which till exist there.

It is found that those stars which is more  than 25 times more massive than the our sun normally collapse use to form the black holes.

According to the co-author on study Dr Negueruela of the University of Alicante in Spain also said that the mystery of missing black hole might be explained if progenitor star got rid of nine tenth of it’s mass before the exploding as the supernova.

On the way of the achieving this ‘diet plan’  would be if progenitor was a part of the cosmic double act called “Binary star” & it’s companion pulled off the some of it/s mass. It would have allowed it for avoiding the fate of becoming the black hole.

Astrophysicist of the UK university of Birmingham Professor Mike Cruise who was not one who involved in this study said that “a brilliant piece of detective work”, told to BBC News and also commented that “what is especially attractive about this paper is the way researchers agrument are based in robust measurement, not just a theory.”


SCIENTIFIC EXPERTS from around the world are predicting that five years from now, all life on Earth could well come to an end. Some are saying it’ll be humans that would set it off. Others believe that a natural phenomenon will be the cause. And the religious folks are saying it’ll be God himself who would press the stop button. The following are some likely arguments as to why the world would end by the year 2012.

The first to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a bloodthirsty race that were good at two things -- building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and sacrificing virgins.

Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the earth will end on December 21, 2012. Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, it’s likely they’ve got the end of the world right as well.

Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery. Our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic and it’s supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the earth with lot of radiation energy. It’s been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse and calculations suggest it’ll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012.

Scientists in Europe have been building the world’s largest particle accelerator. Basically, its a 27 km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that it’s properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. They’re predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball.

The reason for this is simple -- it’s sitting on top of the world’s biggest volcano and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. This one’s case of bog -- simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berkely University have been crunching the numbers. They’ve determined that the earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, they’re claiming that their calculations prove that we’re all going to die, very soon. They are also saying that their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 per cent; and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs.

We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that shields us from most of the sun’s radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call North and South have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so -- and right now we’re about 30,000 years overdue. Scientists have noted that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20-30 kms each year, much faster than ever before, which points to a pole-shift being right around the corner. While the pole shift is under way, the magnetic field is disrupted and will eventually disappear, sometimes for up to 100 years. The result is enough UV outdoors to crisp your skin in seconds, killing everything it touches.
