Apple iPhone getting geared to hit T-Mobile USA too
What do we have here? A white prototype iPhone 4 running on the T-Mobile USA 3G network has been spotted. It looks like the magenta-loving carrier will be getting the Apple iPhone too, just like like Verizon did a few months ago.

Now, the phone hasn’t entered mass production or anything - it’s just a prototype, but this means that we could actually see the next generation iPhone run on T-Mobile USA network as well.

For the uninitiated, T-Mobile uses the rare AWS 3G band (1700Mhz). None of the iPhones released so far has supported that band so what we are seeing here is obviously a new device.

Nokia N8

We were almost starting to suspect mobile phones of giving up and playing soft. They seemed unstoppable you know. They went from 5 to 12 in no time and there was nothing to suggest that digicams will ever get a timeout for a much needed breather.

Surprised or not, the game is back on and Nokia are pulling the big guns out. The N8 is the new wannabe king of cameraphones. Fat numbers on the specs sheet and all that shining armor, the new Nseries flagship is hitting hard and playing tough.

The Nokia N8 has two massive tasks on its hands: beat digicams at their own game and bring Symbian back to its past glory. The hardest thing perhaps is to tell which one is harder. But if anyone should be trusted to perform a seemingly impossible stunt, (still) market leaders Nokia are a safer bet than many.

New Apple iPod Nano

Apple released the 4th generation of the iPod Touch that featured a camera and now according to a report by the latest iPod Nano will also feature a camera.

Previously the iPod Nano went in for a major redesign in which it got smaller and got the multi-touch controls of the iPod Touch. The image released by the suggests the outer frame of the iPod Nano will have a camera similar to the one seen on the iPad 2 while it will retain the same "nano" size.

The iPod Nano is an extremely popular version of the Apple iPod. It is the smallest version of the device ever produced. It features a small touch-screen display, a capacity of up to 16 GB and a FM radio.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc Review

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc is back for a second round (not counting the Lorem Ipsum bit) and this time it will stay a while longer. The company’s new flagship did great in our preview and we’d gladly have more of it.

The statement just couldn’t have been stronger and clearer. The new BRAVIA screen and the impressively slim and fit body are exactly the way to treat a flagship. Android Gingerbread too is as good as it gets in the smartphone world these days.

Just months ago that combination would’ve equaled a license to kill – which the Arc would’ve used without second thoughts. But the competition is insanely intense today and no one is given a second to think.

It takes more than a few outstanding features these days, and they’d better be backed by solid performance across the board. Omissions are not easily forgiven so the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc better stay focused.

Samsung S8530 Wave II Review: Riding the wave

They shall come in wave upon wave. Or so it seemed in the beginning. Samsung certainly wanted a strong start for their own Bada OS and they had it. It is usual for sequels to be questioned and belittled. That’s one thing the Wave II doesn’t have to worry about. It’s bigger and heavier than the original.

When the second gen phone has a familiar sounding model name with an actual ordinal number in it – that doesn’t mean a complete lack of imagination. It’s a way to promote continuity. The Wave II has this base covered too – it’s nearly the same phone as the first Wave but presumably upgraded to reach to a more high-end market segment. Here’s a quick recap of its specs:

Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II

Press conference

The MWC kicked off a day early for Samsung. The company held a press event at Palau Sant Jordi hall in Barcelona, introducing the I9100 Galaxy S II smartphone and Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.

Understandably, given the popularity of the Galaxy S lineup, Samsung tried to focus most of the attention on the I9100 Galaxy S II droid. The slim smartphone packs a huge 4.3” Super AMOLED Plus screen, which should represent a significant update even over the already great Super AMOLED unit on the first Galaxy S.

The speakers went on and on about the Samsung Galaxy S II dual-core processing prowess, powerful GPU and the four hubs that should take the user experience another step forward. Now we are not sure if those hubs will matter that much to potential customers, but we do believe that this will be one of the best smartphones of the year.

Samsung I9000 Galaxy S Review

Our homepage is the natural home of the deadliest smartphone carnivores. We normally don’t mind but this time is different. Are we about to start feeling a wee bit nervous or what. It’s a beast that tops the food chain, instilling fear and terror into the hearts of its prey. Our test lab is Jurassic Park, and the next predator we are about to meet is the T-Rex. Luckily we have a team of skilled keepers, capable of taming it.

The Samsung I9000 Galaxy S has so much muscle that trying to impose your will with brute force is pointless. No sir, this creature needs to be befriended, patted on the back until it starts to trust you. But once it lets you jump on its back it will give you the ride of a lifetime.

Froyo still leads Android versions

Android Versions as of April 2, 2011

The latest Android versions numbers are in, and it remains relatively unchanged from last month. Android 2.2 continues to dominate at 63.9 percent, up from 61.3 percent from the previous two weeks or so. Gingerbread builds of Android 2.3 and 2.3.3 are up a tad to 0.8 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively. Android 3.0 Honeycomb remains unchanged at 0.2 percent, which doesn't say much for sales of the Motorola Xoom, which so far is the only device officially running that build. We'll look to see if that changes now that the Wifi-only version of the Xoom is available.

Android 2.1 dropped a couple percentage points to 27.2 percent. Android 1.6 and 1.5 are at 3.5 percent and 2.7 percent.

So Froyo rules, there aren't too many Nexus One and Nexus S devices out there in the in overall scheme of things (they're the only ones officially running Gingerbread so far), and the Xoom and Honeycomb are just getting started. More data's at the source link if you're into that sort of thing. [Android Developer Blog]
